Reading Series Wiki

This brings me back to the ostensible purpose of this blog–shedding light on what goes into getting a first book out there.

A few months back I dumped a fair amount of time into seeing what readings series were out there as I’m planning on at least doing a number of readings on the east coast and the midwest if not more on the West Coast, time, money, health, and sanity allowing.  So after hours of Googling “Poetry Reading + (city)”  and emailing friends, imagine the horror / joy I felt when I found out Carrie Adams at Black Ocean put together a reading series / independent bookstore wiki.

It’s still in the proto-stage, so it still needs your help in becoming the incredibly useful resource it should be.

Having Gone Insane: CHERYL’S GONE

Can’t believe I neglected to put up a link to Cheryl’s Gone for three months.  I founded the series in 2007 and handed it over to Wade Fletcher in 2008. He’s been doing a phenomenal job programming in the spirit of the series (cross-genre works, music, unpredictability). Anyway, I love the series dearly. And Stu & Lana at Big Bear.  Please patronize:

Danika Myers is reading next month. She’s tremendous. Her significant other helped write this horror movie about exotic invasive species.

This is just a sign of how mind-boggling the last few months have been.
